Actually, John Lennon just released a new album (Double Fantasy) when
he was murdered. Hardly a "has-been".

And Elvis, well he was busy with his Vegas thing and touring right up
to his death. Butyou are right, you could classify his as a "has-been"
milking his celebrity.

Michael Jackson had not released any new music for eight years, and
for all intents and purposes dropped off the planet musically. His
financial devastation forced him back into this new tour. It seems
obvious now that his body was not up to this (he was not Madonna,
that's for sure).

Michael Jackson, as brilliant (as a musician and a trendsetter) as he
was, had serious emotional and drug issues. Not to mention his whole
weird pedophile thing.
