Subject:Electro 2 or XK1...

Hey guys,

Looks like I may be getting back into the clonewheel market. I am apart
of a group in my church that has recently been "touring", singing at
various churches and concerts. We are actually recording an album right
now. If you recall I posted asking about the Korg Triton. Well when we
recorded the music that day, I ended up using a Yamaha Motif. The organs
still sounded like garbage and I am really unhappy with the way the
organ tracks turned out. They just seemed to ruin the rest of the music
for me. Everyone else thought it sounded fine but I guess my opinion is
biased being a Hammond enthusiast, haha.

Already we've run into the problem where there is no organ. Moving my
Hammond CV is just not an option. I'd love to but I know it would never
work. Not to mention, I don't want to lose a precious instrument if
something were to happen during transit. The only viable option would be
to purchase a clonewheel. I think the Nord Electro 3 is going to be
outside of the church's budget, however it looks like there are still
some Electro 2's around and that would be a more reasonable purchase for
us. I've also considered the Hammond XK1. I'm just really torn between
the two. Using a real Leslie right now is also out of the question due
to funds. I personally wasn't all that impressed with the XK1 Leslie
simulator. The NE2 has had some software revisions and I'm not sure if
those revisions fixed the strange artifacts with the onboard simulator.
I'm hoping someone that still owns an Electro 2 can shed some light on
this.
