The L and R outputs are more convenient than taking the output from the Headphone jack and using an adaptor. The Mod wheel is important for setting the amount of Modulation/Vibrato you want and leaving it set. The Mod button is either full on or off. The only real advantage to the older WK models is that they have MIDI. The WK-3800 only has USB.
