Agree almost all that it's said, except that I would prefer to add a little mod without meaning a great herecsy unless to vintage Leslies.

My preference:

Put it on a single speed Leslie something (already did it in 1969)something to get variable motor speed switch, just to get chorale sound.

I find it tremendeously necessary for my taste (i.e. AWSOP , ProcolHarum )

Now with a small DIY board or something finished like the boards from CaribbeanControls it can be got without sacrificing the amp , speaker and horn.
