Do the knobs have limited movement or free-spinning? If limited in
its movement, the position of the knob should (AFAIK) relate to that
specific MIDI CC value regardless of what preset you have stored of a
different value.
But if the problem you're having "corrects" by moving the knob (or
combination of both knobs? ????) sounds like a firmware bug, that
may be fixed by reloading it, or getting the latest update, which I
though was just recently made available on Clavia's site.
I remember the VK8m had a weird issue of drawbar values changing even
when I'm not touching them. A simple OS reload fixed that bug.
It is possible to mess up a software parameter, if power is cut while
saving a preset or doing some other related function... just like a pc.
I don't think you have a HW issue. Your C1 is so new, I can't imagine
even the pots going bad that quickly.
