Subject:Re: Leslie Sim Speaker System
It seems that in the end game, wether you're using a leslie sim or
rotary cab, an AMA or other tube pre setup, you gotta do your
homework... serious homework. Amps, cabs, powered cabs.... how much
power? how much REAL musical power (forget Peak or RMS) quality of
drivers. Alot of manufacturers will skimp on real quality to make
them more affordable.
Really really check every spec of every device before you buy or build.
I'm glad I did, especially with the DEQ unit, its a little pricey, but
the tremendous flexability and programming features and the results it
delivers, not to mention loudspeaker/amp control, makes it worth the
investment. I'm choosing to build my own cabs, because for specific
clonewheel purposes, most amps/keyboard amps etc... just don't have
exactly what I need for the exact tone I want.
My $.02
