I'm sure to those two it did fall short...but the end result was something they probably had not planned on...in that respect they are like Leo with the Strat...Interesting information none the less. The way we banter about leslies vs. sims and that the only real leslie is something that moves air..same beast with trying to simulate a pipe organ...Ultimately it was mostly borne out of convenience to having to deal with large pieces of equipment...it seems that in the downsizing, something is lost..

What we all have to remember is that Laurens Hammond and Don Leslie were NOT Jim Marshall, or Tom Jennings and Dick Denny. They weren't trying to create a jazz, blues, or rock instrument. They were trying to create the sound of a PIPE ORGAN. To that yardstick, the Hammond and Leslie do fail a bit.
