It is a solid state on/off adjustable timer toggling a relay that provides
power alternately to the two independent AC outlets. This will automatically
turn the fast and slow motors every 5 seconds (or whatever I set it to) for
as long as I want.

I did a little project a while ago that I thought I would share with the
group. As I was dis-assembling and cleaning my Leslie motors, I wanted a way
to test them on the bench. I wanted them to switch on and off the same way
they would when being driven by the relay in the amplifier. In that way, I
could see if the slow to fast to slow dynamics were working properly. I
realize it is not a true test in that there is no load on the motors.

Photos of the project can be seen on the group page in the "Photos" section
under the name "Leslie Switch Box". The photos include pictures of the
assembled unit, the contents of the boxes, and a schematic.

The project was very simple, consisting of a couple of metal outlet boxes,
some brown and white receptacles, some switches and a fuse. The fuse wasn't
originally planned, but I figured safer is always better. 2 amps is probably
way too high, but it was what I had on hand and should prevent a short from
doing something dangerous. One thing to note is the power switch is a double
pole switch so both the hot and neutral lines are disconnected when the
power is "off".

I know most people would probably just plug and unplug the motors to test
them. But I guess I wanted a little project to do anyway and it seemed like
this would be cool to do. Hope it might be useful to others, too.
