I should have read Sven's post closer.  While what I say is correct in terms of midi implementation, Sven is correct about using midi with the Ventilator now.

David, you could use a Midi Solutions relay with a Midi Solutions EPP+ to change speeds (but nothing else right now).  But to be honest, the cost wouldn't be justified.  If midi is REALLY the deal breaker you proclaim it is, you can have midi speed switching now.  Do you reall need midi control of all the other parameters like overdrive, mic placement, distance, ramp speed, etc? Do you use that much tweaking of the 2101 now?

Not in this case.  Speed switching would be controlled by CC#1 (modulation) .  The Nord supports it (I used my Electro to control my 2101 leslie when I had it), as does the XK1 (which I use to control B4).  Using moduilation as the control, you then can use either a footswitch (momentary or latching type!), mod wheel, mod leverl, or even breath control.  No MidiSolutions box needed.

Of course, speed switching is the easy parameter.  Ramp up, ramp down, slow speed, fast speed, distortion, mic placement, mic balance, all those would need to be assigned.

Maybe David J. could figure that out and send it to Guido to speed things up!   (Sorry, David, just being a smartass, you know I can't help myself!)

Regarding midi there is just one problem.
You probably want the speed switching to work with the XK-3c and there are
others who want it to work with a Nord or some other clone.
The midi data for speed switching is handled different between Hammond and
Nord etc. so at least 2 system have to be supported in this case.

If you want midi there is a simple solution buy the "midisolutions relay"
that Bruce W have for sale.
Or if you have Hammond with 11 pin output make an adapter cable, then you
can have both speed switching, audio signal and DC power in the same cable.

Sven

Too bad Guido isn't like Steve Hayes. If Steve had this product he
would have created a rack mount, MIDI, or anything else the customer
wanted in no time at all... I too am waiting for a MIDI model. A rack
model with MIDI would be more attractive.
