I'm glad my Barbetta 41 has made the grade of good quality amps. I somehow stumbled upon it and bought it without knowing a lot aobut the competition. I'm still thrilled with it. I run one in mono.

cannot agree more with this comment. Anytime you stick a piece of ³pro²
ear in your signal chain that is inferior in audio quality, you are
ebilitating your sound. How much money do you have invested in the actual
eyboards in your live or studio rig? I would guess that there is nothing
n it that was purchased because it was inexpensive. Cheap gear is NOT a
argain. I think I added comment a few weeks back in a thread about rack
ount mixers. My Ashly mixer has been in my rack for over 5 years, with a
oland M120 owned for many years prior. I¹ve owned a pair of Barbetta 31¹s
or a little bit longer and these are pieces of gear that will probably
eep in my setup for many more years.. How many of us can say that about the
ctual keyboards we currently have in our arsenal? . Dependable great
ounding gear isn¹t inexpensive, but a bargain when you consider how much
alue a quality piece offers you - something that you will use for many,
any years because it sounds great and is built with quality components. I
emember going out on training sessions with my ex-boss and pitching
arman Professional or Audiotechnica products or whatever line we had at the
ime. His analogy was simple - ³Hey, I just bought a brand new set of golf
lubs for $49.99. The shafts aren¹t true, but look at the price I paid!² Or
y favorite I just bought a digital camera for $49.95. The lens doesn¹t
ocus well, but....you get the picture? I realize that a lot of us are
atching our pennies closely and trying to make purchase decisions as wisely
s one can, but settling for something that is a detriment to your personal
ound is something that is the wrong path to take. That¹s my lesson for
oday:)

However, I cannot stress enough the need for a quality sound
mplification system. This is where you should spend your $$$. For
ears I used mediocre amps (Mackie, Roland, etc) and this really hurt
he overall sound of my rig. Now that I have jumped to the EV system
ith the AMA, a whole new sonic world has opened up for me. Even if
ou have a Ventilator, if you are playing it through crap, you will
robably hear crap.
