Subject:Re:Ventilator--any comments from Speakeasy users?

Tony is right-on with his comments. This has always been the situation
with good Leslie sims (which are too few in number). I used to gig
with a real Leslie but found that the frustrations of miking the thing
correctly and having it sound decent above the din was just too much
work (and too frustrating).

I feel that the XK3c Leslie sim is now good enough for anyone to tell
the difference in the venues that I perform in. I continually have
people coming up to me in amazement and commenting on how good my rig
sounds. This not only has to do with the sim, but with the Speakeasy
AMA and the twin EV 360's. The Ventilator obviously raises the notch
in quality sims.

However, I cannot stress enough the need for a quality sound
amplification system. This is where you should spend your $$$. For
years I used mediocre amps (Mackie, Roland, etc) and this really hurt
the overall sound of my rig. Now that I have jumped to the EV system
with the AMA, a whole new sonic world has opened up for me. Even if
you have a Ventilator, if you are playing it through crap, you will
probably hear crap.

I will probably purchase a Ventilator when they add MIDI and a way to
run my AMA through it without overloading it. Until then I am very
happy with my sound.
