Subject:RE: Privia Companion to my XK-1

Peter & Group,

I ordered a PX330 from Sweetwater a few days ago. I was just informed that
they received the first shipment today and are in turn sending my keyboard.
We'll have to see just how good it is.

My introduction to the Privia series was with a PX120 I purchased from an
eBay seller in northern NJ who specializes in damaged goods from a large
music retailer. I figured that I could use it for practice and as a
weighted controller for my Receptor when I didn't want to transport one of
my Roland A-80s and road case with 113 lbs combined weight. This Privia 120
was adverstised as "good electronics", but the case had some cracks in the
front corners of both side pieces. I repaired the cracks, but soon found
that the processor board had issues and would lock up freqently,
necessitating a power down and back up again. Of course you can't play with
fellow musicians with a condition like this and at times it even makes solo
practice frustrating. Casio in NJ had the $200+ boards backordered. I
ended up getting credit for the keyboard and shipping after a long string of
emails, most of which were unanswered. I'll probably purchase a new
microprocessor board from Casio.

The bottom line is that while this Privia series might be lacking in some
reproduction qualities, I found that the 120 was one hell of a package for
the price. That prompted me to purchase the 330 new. I hope we both like
them.

Hello,

I recently placed an order for the soon-to-be released Privia PX330 Digital
Grand Piano.  I plan to use it in conjunction with my Hammond XK-1.

If there is an interest expressed from any Group Members, I'd be happy to
share my thoughs on the piano, once it's in my hands.

Regards,

Peter
