Dude, I'm not sure that your experiment prooved that dancers only care for the beat or not, but I'm sure you had a lot of fellow musicians (or anyone else with an ear for music) leaving your gigs saying to themselves; "the band sounded pretty decent, but the keyboard player sure can't solo". I can't believe your band members let you get away with that for a month.
