Have you heard of "color" hearing?
We had a lady speak on that at the local college some years back.
She was a great player too.
I also heard a little about it about 25 years ago from the college professor I was studying with at the time.
He said that they were experimenting with teaching it in Japan, but I've heard nothing more about it.
