Subject:Re: Walking Bass+Soloing, looking for suggestions

Hi. About five years ago I bought a small pamphlet with cd on eBay by Eddie Landsberg called Art Of The Jazz Organ Bass Line that had tutorials and play along exercises on cd. I don't know if it is still available. It helped me quite a bit. His email address on the cd was shakehip at aol dot com. Some other books with exercises are Hammond Organ Complete (w/cd) by Berklee Press, then Beauty in the B Second Edition by Mark Vail(Has a master class section)The first edition doesn't have the master class. And the book Classic Hammond Organ by Steve Lodder has exercises and a cd. You may already know these techniques already but its the it's the repetitive exercises and play alongs in these books that were a help for me. If I don't practice and review what I've learned on at least a weekly basis I tend to forget it all very quickly. For some people when they learn a riff or technique it stays with them. Not for me though. I still have a hard time making up my own lines. Stuff I've played all my life I forget if I don't review it occasionally. For me It's not like when you learn to ride a bike where you can always get on one and do it.
