Funny you should mention the KX88, Norm. Mine used to offer up stuck mod. wheel control messages - even after I'd returned the wheel to 0. Then it would be fine after rebooting...
A fellow player in Chicago, back in the 80's, used a KX-88 with a phone booth sized rack 'o gear. Though he had many monstrous, well layered patches in that rig, I did hear a few spectacular bloopers come out of it.
Back in 1995, I played out in northern IL with a country rock band. My rig for that group was a Korg M1 with a Red, Roland FP-8 on the bottom tier (The lead singer used to say that it looked like a waterbed...). I would MIDI the FP-8 into the M1. This worked well for a while, that is until the FP-8 began to randomly trigger low notes - both its' own sound generator and the M1, via MIDI. The triggered notes were always at full velocity strike, often occured during ballads, and never were in key...
