Some good points(1-3) and that should take care of most situations. Points 4 and on do seem to approach the (lunatic:) fringe and are probably not necessary. A tightly closing flight case should help seal out some humidity for home or travel.

BTW large bags of dessicant are used in piano crates when shipped from overseas. I don't know where you can get them and I wouldn't bother either but there is such an "animal" and it it is used for controlling humidity in shipment.
