Subject:Re: Using Leslie 2101 as a straight-up keyboard amp
There is a way to do what you want. Set the Xk-3's digital Leslie to
2 - 3 channel type and when you want to send a signal to the
stationary channel turn the Leslie On and Brake buttons to off.
Insert the non-organ keyboard into the XK-3's effects return. The XK-
3's expression pedal will also raise and lower the volume of the
inserted instrument and it will also go therough the XK-3's EQ and
reverb. The XK-3 will send all output out the Aux/Stationary channels
in the 11 pin connector/cable (as well as the 1/4" outputs). You can
still use the Leslie for some non-organ sounds if you want as well.
The drawback to this method is it is an either/or proposition. You
can't play the organ through the Leslie while playing the non-organ
sounds through the Aux/Stationary channels.
A few years ago some people also found a way to add 1/4" jacks to the
stationary channel inputs in the 2101. I think they tapped into the
appropriate wires in the 11 pin connector in the 2101.
Good Luck.
