Subject:Biamped clonewheel

Well I got it put together:
Roland VK88 into active crossover and then biamped
high into pioneer receiver
into trumpet tweeters inside 1960's Magnavox console

low into Optimus MPA 250 stereo PA amp
into 15" woofers inside 1960's Magnavox console

The wood console cabinet really makes those drivers sound nice.
The Leslie sim is much better.

I spent a total of $46 on the amps and crossover.
The Magnavox was free, and included a dinner at my friends' house.
The tone is very nice, and I have so many ways to adjust.

I can adjust:
the crossover point for each channel.
the volume of the high and low of each channel separately
(4 volumes).
the gain of each channel between the organ and the crossover.

I could add my equalizer between the organ and the crossover,
but I don't think I need it. It sounds great!
The acoustic piano sounds very clear along the entire keyboard.
The bass is fantastic.
Clear and lound,
but including the sudtleties of the acoustic bass.
The only negative is the strings. They sound almost great.
But the old tweeders don't go up high enough to do them perfectly.
The only way to do this would be to replace the tweeders,
but then the Hammond percussion would be too strong.
I could hook up the equalizer and
change the settings when I switch from percussion to strings.
But it is such a minor point,
and I don't think its worth the hassle.
Its interesting that Roland provided a separate chorus audio out.
I could run a paralel system for the chorus tones....
I won a small stereo tube amp on Ebay that I will hook up to the high.
Curious about the diference.

My wife would agree, that I've gone far enough.
Its time to work on a "honeydo project."
