Desktops usually have more ability for less cost. The only reason to go with laptop is if you
want to be able to move the computer, using it for other purposes, taking your rig to a
gig.. Laptops also tend to use a tiny bit less electricity if that concerns you.

To choose the computer, you would do best to pick out your software first. Then pick out
the best operating system for that software, then a computer that will handle all of your
software, and has all of the plug ins for whatever hardware you will need.
