Good Topic. I've been thinking of how to set up one of my computers for my
music also.

Can I get some opinions as to what to have in a music computer, form factor
(desktop or laptop) and is the kind of application I can use one of my older
slightly slower computers for or I need a real speed demon?

I'm not looking to run the computer as a sound source such as running VSTs
and such, but to record music, create some songs etc. That kind of thing. And
do you find laptops or desktops to be preferable.
