Ha ha!
One is a large hotel gig and the other one is a large live venue on
the UK South Coast. I couldnt beleive it either.. but apparently any
place that puts on live entertainment for the public is required to
have all electrical appliances PAT tested, including the equipment
used by performers. Lucky i don't gig my 6 pin Leslue 145, not a hope
of that passing a PAT test!!
A PAT Test is valid for one year i beleive. Just another drain on the
meagre resources of performers, along with Public Liability Insurance
(which we also have to have for some venues, which isnt cheap either)
Talk about pay to play.....
