Subject:Re: Stand issues revisited
For a two tier arrangement, I use an groove pac / On stage A lot of
their stuff is the same) from Sam Ash X stand (but maybe you can adapt
one of your other stands.) I stand so I'm fine with the X stand.
I bought the second tier attachment but didn't like it because it was
too far apart. I modded the attachment by removing the arms and just
use the vertical square tubes that attach in to the back of the X
stand. I dont use the horizontal connecting rod either. My VK-7 is on
the bottom and I put my Casio PX300 (88 key) on the VK-7 Which has a
flat top (good luck for me!) I slanted the square tubes apart to the
point where they were just under the back of the Casio and attached an
aluminum 1" angel about 4' long. I drilled and tapped 1/4" x 20
threads in the square tube and put in bolt thru that stick out enough
to go through holes in the aluminum angle and fasten them with
threaded knobs. I put a few strips of velcro on the angle and the
PX300. The setup is very solid. I can also stack my alesis micron on
top of the right side of the PX300 with cantilevered aluminum brackes
but that's another story.
As you can see, I'm into piling my keyboards on top of each other and
using whatever I can to keep them in place and balanced. Velcro and
aluminum stock appear to be my materials of choice.
Cheers,
Rock

The angle of the legs makes it impossible to sit under.
