If thats how the effects block are set up, then the DEQ2496 may work
as I intended it. From what I've heard (at least playing on an old
XK3 and XK1, there is no tonewheel limiting, also no tonewheel imiting
on the CX3, the VK7/8, NE2,Stage series. Too much rolloff on just
using a graphic EQ will kill leakage effects, on-board drive effects,
and make the overall organ tone sound a bit dull or muddy. That's how
I hear it.
Its understandable though, its darn near impossible to insert a
virtual 91 band tonewheel limiter in a clonewheel, such an effect will
drive up the cost of the keyboard too much... Software plugins like B4
or VB3 have a much better chance at gaining this feature (I don't have
much experience with these)
I'll import some more info and settings on the DEQ soon, so you can
see exactly how I set it up with my VK8m (each organ mfg has its own
sonic character)
Cheers,
J
