Several reasons actually, but the biggest reason was when I opened it
up to check it out, I found large cracks everywhere inside, and one of
the front drivers was sitting loosely because two of the cracks went
right through where the screws went in. From cheap/heavy MDF to a
lighter-weight solid hardwood (white pine in this case) made a huge
difference in tone and knocked off about 10 lbs.
