I'll ditto that. Try living in Omaha and looking for your car in a snowdrift...

Well, it’s true; I hammered Steve endlessly…more or less…for the last 2
years starting at the inception of the RB3c, I’ve been beating on Steve
about the size, but I really started pummeling him in the last 3 months
about it.  There are too many of us who really love that sound and gig
regularly who are just sick and tired of hauling big gear around, or can’t
afford to any more because of physical limitations or vehicular limitations,
and if that makes me a whiner, then so be it.  I’ve always said, you can’t
get tone on a diet, but even I am at the point where I am fed up with
carrying 3x as much gear as the guitarist and bassist combined. And while I
have been very satisfied with B4 contro
lled by my XK1 or Electro, and
appreciate the Electro as a standalone for ease of use, every time I fire up
my Speakeasy rig, I get frustrated that the primary place of my musical
endeavors (the gig) is the one place where I’m selling myself short.

So who better to design and build this stuff than Speakeasy?  For Steve,
it’s always been about tone first and foremost, and he won’t sacrifice tone
for any other factor, whether it’s size, portability, profit or popularity.
But I knew he could do it.  The box showed up last nite on my doorstep.  I
fired it up, and it’s got a nice, tight bottom.  And it’ll take some volume:
I’m driving it with my AMA and QSCPLX1804 (500w per side at 8@).  We are
approaching the diminutive size of the Motion Sound Pro 145, and are smaller
than the Leslie 3300; but because it’s in 2 pieces (upper and lower rotor
boxes), it can now fit into smaller cars where those other units cannot.
And because you use your own amplifier, these boxes are much easier
(lighter) to lift and maneuver into places like your back seat.  And yet,
while we may have disproved my “tone on a diet” after 30-some years, one
thing that has not slimmed down is the tone: not in
terms of girth and beauty, and not in terms of power either.  As you guys
know, I’m just a little insane, and I’ve pushed Speakeasy into the realm of
Spinal Tap with the power, and thi
s box performs just like my fullsize lower
rotor box (it should, it still has a 15” and fullsize rotor).  This box is a
win/win.   I’ll report on my first gig with this rig next weekend.

Thanks for the bandwidth.

Hi All

Speakeasy is proud to announce a new product. WE now have a compact 15"
speaker lower rotor. The unit is 23W / 20D / 22H. This unit still has
great tight bass. Now you truly can have a rotary speaker that fits in
a back seat... We can all thank our own Tonysounds for this new item.
He pounded on me with no mercy. Also he wines good too....

Steve
