I think if the driver goes you get some noise and then silence.

I found that one of the nuts on a small screw that holds the control
panel to the cabinet was a little loose and allowed the metal bracket
to wiggle a little when I moved it by hand. I don't know if it was
making noise but I thought I heard something once in a while. I
bought some thin felt weather stripping from an Ace Hardware store
and but some between the bracket and the cabinet. I also double
nutted the 3 screws (IIRC they are metric). As long as I was at it I
lined the inner edges of the middle and lower panels with the felt as
well. I used a few pieces of double sided scotch tape to hold it in
place. Before I closed it up I snugged up every screw I could find.
They were mostly pretty tight. I did find a couple on the handles
that I could turn about 1/4 turn. It turned out that a part of a
recessed light fixture buzzed a little at certain frequencies.

Good Luck.
