Part of it too is I’m going for cleaner tones at higher volumes; I was always wishing I had “just a little bit more” when using standard leslies (except for my Bulldog, which wasn’t exactly standard either because of its cabinet), and while I now have that, the extra headroom means I need a little extra protection from toasting drivers; and while it would be easy to just move to higher powered drivers, we still want to retain the original/gold standard tone that most folks want out of a leslie. So the objectives with this have been: more power, more portability (for non-van/truck and single man cartage) yet “that” sound. Speakeasy has hit the Triple Crown.
