It helps immensely.? I'm a bread and butter kind of player always live.? I use my Hammond sounds, an ocassional EP and do use some of the rompler sounds of my Ultimate Keys card in my VR760 (VCombo), but I'm not happy with the piano feel.? So I usually wind up bringing my Roland 300sx which has great sound and feel but no organs work anything.?
I'd love to get to one keyboard so I've been toying with the Stage idea for a while.? Just to chicken to pony up yet..LOL.

Actually, no bull, the learning curve on the Stage is non-existent. The midi implementation is the toughest thing to learn on it, and in actuality, it's easier if you DONT use the manual. Unfortunately, it's midi implementation is inadequate for my needs.
My love/hate relationship with it has been based on its piano sounds. They sound great through headphones, sound really great recording, but have been a tough sell live. I was ready to give up on this one a month ago, until the true stereo (2 cabinets, not a stereo amp in single box) epiphany hit me. When on a lark I just hooked up a 2nd cabinet that was lying around and was too lazy to put them next to each other, I was stunned at how great it sounds.
It is one of the most spontaneous keyboards I've ever owned (if not the most). There are some things the Electro implemented that Nord decided to implement differently on the Stage but I learned work-arounds (the Awah2 FX was the biggest pain).
What it really comes down to for me is that I have limited what I can bring to a gig gearwise because of my vehicle (Toyota Highlander). And when it comes right down to it, bringing a leslie (my Speakeasy Flatpack or RB3c) is more important to me than other things I need to bring to supplement my Stage rig (rack with mixer/poweramp/synth module). I can get by with my Motif as a standalone even though it doesn't have the spontaneous features the Nord has, but then I can bring the rack with my Speakeasy AMA and amp for my RB3c.
I never implemented the Stage into my PinkFreud gigging rig as it doesn't have nearly the midi control ability my A90 has (8zones all assignable at the patch level, whether talking ab out midi channelization, CC control, etc), which allows me to control my MotifRack, JD990, FantomXr, and Muse Receptor. And with The Ritalin Brothers, we're doing much heavier music, and I need the leslie more than I need the more subtle things the Stage is capable of.
And at that point, keeping the Stage means I would be maintaining 3 keyboard rigs, which is insane.
I think the Stage is great...and while I've had some real isues with the 4 units I had (as discussed, piano sounds which I figured out, midi issues which I can't resolve), I sometimes had sellers remorse. I would still very much recommend this to the person who is looking for a real bread n butter keyboard, or someone who wants a great digital piano/electronic piano that is capable of some fantastic Hammond emulations. And the synth section is actually more powerful than it's given credit for. I used it extensively, but needed the Fantom for guitar/orchestral/ROMpler sounds.

Can you discuss what it is that doesn't quite suit your needs or taste that causes this push/pull?? I've been thinking about the Stage as a one keyboard gig rig but I'm wondering if the learning curve is too difficult or it's just not the right thing?? I know everyone's tastes differe etc, but I'm curious to understand your thoughts on it.
