Yes and no. The parts are probably somewhat "generic," but the computer world changes rapidly. I have a small business, and have taken to buying spares for things like motherboards and graphics cards because the likelihood of finding replacements even a year later is slim. I think that you would end up depending on support from the manufacturer, rather than "rolling your own," so to speak.
