I am in a better spot today, but my troubles were of my own making, I was faced with a self imposed crisis I could neither postpone nor evade.

Bush seems to suffer from what some approximate up to 15% of the population in the US suffers from. That is, a selfish, self centered extreme example of self will run riot.

I was really going to avoid jumping in...(can you believe it!!!?) , but I
have to agree. Whether you're red or blue or something else, it all comes
down to one question: are you and/or your family in a better place than you
were eight years ago?

I don't know one person who can say they are, and that's a sign things are
bad.

I'll leave topics like Iraq, the price of oil, another freakin repeat of the
S&L scandals of the 70s disguised as "mortgages" (Charles Keating...another
bible thumper who is going to show me the righteous path....hmmm), our
health care system, and (add issue here) for you all to digest and
metabolize personally, but honestly answer that question. And then answer it
for your children, whether they're infants, kids, young adults, or parents
themselves.

Now I'm getting all pi$$ed off before bed.....

Actually.. it is.

Suggest you read The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq
Conflict: Joseph
E. Stiglitz,Linda J. Bilmes. BTW Stiglitz is a Nobel Prize winning
economist.

They trace the current housing market slump, the credit crunch, and
especially the
devalued US dollar directly to the money - and life - haemorrage that is the
Iraq War.
There is an 18 minute interview with him on the NPR website:

At this point in time I wouldn't vote for the Redeemer Himself if he was on
a Republican
ticket.
