Subject:Re: Way, WAY OT: Need Help w/Deciding on Purchase

You may wanna check out a Korg R3. I'd like to test-drive one myself, but haven't come across one yet. It has a vocoder, and isn't mini-keys. It also has some knobs you can tweak real-time if you're looking for that.

It seems that the Micro-Korg and SH-201 are "techno-oriented" synths. I'd ask that Roland guy why they haven't come out with a "vintage-analog" synth, with knobs/sliders etc. The Alesis ION may also be worth a look.

Have Fun!

probably at least move in the SH-201 direction. Around spring of 1985 I bought
an SH-101 from Sam Ash in NYC... $160 brand new, and I loved it... a couple
years playing it and I traded it in at a used equipment place for a MiniMoog,
which I'd wanted for years. Though I love that Moog, sometimes I wish I'd
kept the Roland!

Thanks again -
