I should also mention that in the rare case of not turning on initial power on, once the top rotor starts turning it always works correctly from that point on, fast or slow, no problems.  There appears to be some small ruts or voids in the rubber and I suppose if the motor stops on one of those when power is turned off, it has a hard time starting on power up.
 
But are new O-rings tubular without any flat side?  The flat on mine is so uniform it looks like it might be made that way.  Not sure.  Or does it flatten with use?

I think I need new "tires" on my Leslie motors, but I have not worked with them before and have a few questions. Once in a while, when I first power up the Leslie on slow, the upper horn will not start turning. The motor is spinning, but it is not driving the disc with the tire on it, which has the pulley to the horns. The tires that are on there now have a flat, worn looking edge the slow motor shaft bears against. Is it supposed to be flat, or is it just worn that way? (I have never seen a new one)

Next, if the tire is supposed to be tubular and not have a flat edge, can I pull the existing tire off and sort of reverse it so the inner edge is now facing outward to touch the motor shaft? Or is that not possible or practical. I am all new to this and any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
