Eventually you will need a tire when it has worn too far, but before that
stage, you simply adjust the slow motor mount to move the shaft inwards. It
is a threaded bolt with lock nuts on it controlling the angle of tilt of the
slow motor.

The adjustment is a bit delicate - adjust it in too far, and the shaft
cannot rise to engage the tire. Out too far, and it will slip.
