Upon further review of Mr. Tuson's "suggestions", I guess I'll ask the obvious: since no one seems to be raising their hand and saying "I've got one", as one of the other "manufacturers", what are the odds of getting the Diversi to a Midwest Clonemeet? I'm not involving other manufacturers because I'm guessing if there's enough interest in attending this thing, someone is likely to be able to bring their Roland VK-something, and likely, a Korg CX3 (since those were well established in the marketplace in their day), and I'll already have an Electro, XK1 and B4 (via Receptor) here. For 5 year old clones (or newer) that leaves....Viscount's module, a Voce V5 (anyone?!?)....and anything else you can think of.
But since it's a Clonemeet, why the heck would anyone put that kind of limitation on it? Bring an old CX3, or an old OB3, or whatever you're playing, or have had stashed at home for eons. (Anyone remember the Moog organ? The Crumar T1? Roland VK1000, or RS09?) It's a Clonemeet....like a Hamfest (for you Ham operators out there): that means anything of interest, bring it on.
If this were to happen, and it was too large for my small studio, I have a 3 car garage that's heated and air conditioned; if there's really that many people interested, I'll get a tent and we'll do it outdoors. I don't think it's necessary to rent a hall....but if someone wants to take that ball and run with it, by all means. If people were willing to spend money on feeding and quenching themselves, I can get a club to open up for us for an afternoon/evening before hours; just buy food and beverage from the bar. Shouldn't be tough.
On the other hand, Mr. T can organize these in the cities he deems fit (try a Saturday/Sunday as opposed to a weekday during typical work hours, so as not to exclude those of us still unfortunate enough to have to "work") and in any fashion he sees fit. I'll show up at the Midwestern event, as long as it's a Sat/Sun Day. (Evenings on the weekends are no good either as most of us gig.)
This can be as casual or as high-falootin as you want. When you get down to it, we're interested in what we all use, not pretense. But since Mr. T has sort of inspired this to happen, wouldn't it be a shame if the Diversi wasn't represented somehow?

Like I said, I'm 20 minutes from Midway, 35 mins from O'Hare. I've got leslies, an Electro, an XK1 and B4. Towns say you can't do this???? I live in a house, and it can go all day, but at 10pm, the noise stops. I just had 75 people at my house for a party until 5am, I think they'll be A-OK with 50 guys playing music and done by 10pm.

First I am sorry that I haven't been able to post here but I have been involved with a video taping of a show at BET. The days are long so I have only been able to answer my regular email.
Now to some suggestions with regards to the Clone Meet.
This is a great and I think some of you are really brave to want to host perfect strangers in your home. What are you going to do if you have 30 people show up. Not a good idea. Plus some towns have a limit on what you can do in your home.
Here are my suggestions that are somewhat based on what the people in Italy do. Now I am sure that there will be a HOST of comments from this, so here goes.
1. The Meet really should be held in a neutral place. Something like a VFW hall or some place that will allow for a fair number of people and gear. Gear takes up a lot of area. Now what do I mean by neutral place. As some of you know we hosted the open house in my retail store, the Hammond Organ Center and of course I am sure some people felt like we were going to PUSH them to buy, which we didn't do.
Also, no one company or person should bare the cost and strain as well.
2. If it is held in a neutral place the other manufactures are more likely to supply gear and want to be involved. Other wise what isn't supplied by a manufacture will have to be supplemented by people bringing their own keyboard and gear. I know a few players that won't and don't let anyone touch their gear. The person that would let their gear be used will have have to be someone who doesn't mind taking the chance that their gear might get abused.
3. A stock B3 or C3 and stock 122 or 147 should be included as a baseline for comparison. Nothing modified or hot rodded.
4. The ability and time to try different products together. For example using a 122 or 147 with the clones or other brands of rotary speaker(s) and none rotary cabinets to hear and compare the rotary simulations.
5. Also, if this is truly going to be an all day event maybe consider dinner and a concert / jam session. Maybe even a playing clinic.
6. It should also be stressed that the Meet isn't a selling event. That's right! NOT A SELLING event. This is a great opportunity for people to try gear and hang with fellow tone wheel lovers without any pushy selling.
Now.... Here is the 40,000 dollar question. What is the wish list for clones and speaker systems. There are so many configurations that could be done that this might turn into a two day thing. Also, you have to limit the amount of items. Items that haven't been in production for more then 3 years might not be included, say like the old XB2 or Korg's original CX3 or some Elka off the wall drawbar thing.
This is something that has to be pretty well organized (accuse the pun) and thought out. Other wise some people will get pissed and feel it's a waste of time. Even if it is keep on a level playing field there is bound to be someone put out and someone who will feel they are special and break the rules.
Just my dollar, two, ninty eight.
