Subject:Diversi questions

Hello all,

The recent thread has raised some questions in my mind, which I will
make in two parts. Since Mr. Tuson is an active contributing member
of the list and willing to talk about his product directly (something
I appreciate), I thought this would be a good question to ask.

Here we go! ...

It's my understanding that, generally speaking, the company that made
the KeyB Duo overseas has entered into some kind of agreement with
Diversi to distribute that organ.

So how did this:

Which *appears* to be a dual-manual clone with NO bench, pedals or
fine wood cabinet, turn into this:

http://www.diversiorgan.com/product_dvduoplus.html

Which *appears* to be a dual-manual clone with matching bench, pedals,
and fine wood cabinet?

Or are they the same?

Here is my reason for asking: I want a dual-manual clone to gig with.
There are many options to consider, most of which are in the $2k-$4k
price point. Yet the Diversi product is only offered as a "Complete
Console Organ", and has a price point of $14k-16k. I'm assuming that
these prices are for the "full meal deal" with bench, pedals, and fine
wood cab; otherwise, there is no easily-identified reasoning for being
a full $10k higher that all of the competition. So...

1. Why is the price point so much higher?
2. Can we purchase a "plain-jane" KeyB Duo, exactly like the one we
see on the overseas website, at a much lower price point?

My own uninformed reaction is that, if Nord - I tiny company compared
to, say, Roland - can build and ship a dual-manual clone to the US and
sell it at $2,799.99, can't Diversi do the same? While I understand
that the product goes through many changes at Diversi, those changes
aren't needed by the usual gigging weekend-warrior like me, so the
savings could be passed on to the customer. If the reason for the
higher price point is importing the organ, why not simply buy/assemble
the organ here per the existing design without additions?

I certainly am not asking you to reveal IP or your pricing structure,
but I know I can't be the only one that has wondered this. The KeyB
Duo generated a lot of interest when we first saw it, and to be
honest, I really like the look/sound better than the current other
offerings.
