Subject:Re: korg cx-3 vs. roland vk-7

I bought my VK-7 in 2007 after a long career as classical church
organist. So my only reference was some experience from 30 years ago
with a real L100 Hammond organ. There was also a budget issue.

The VK-7 was very affordable, had imho a true hammond sound (now 1
year later I'm less sure about that) and also important, it has a
superwarm strings section, a couple of fine electric bass- and
brasspresets (yeah right I'm doing more than just Hammond)

A Korg wasn't available at that time but due to the lack of the 'other
tones' I wouldn't have chosen it anyway. A VK-8 was to expensive and
is without a display a disaster to edit.

While the VK-7 is very editable and because I use it in combination
with the mentioned Korg Pandora PX4D (for some extra vintage sound)
it's for this moment my best option.

At home I play somethimes with B4II from NA and I must admit this is
really good, only I don't see myself with a laptop on stage.....
