Great point Ryan! I have heard nothing but negative about how the key
action of the Roland VK8, but I chose this model and love it. It has
that agressive responsiveness like a small block Chevy V8. (Compared
to my 1958 Allen which is more like a huge diesel). The Roland feels
like it just wants to be played. I only played a B3 once, a long time
ago, so the action might not be identical, but I love its
responsiveness. The negative comments were about key bounce, but I
read that Roland did this on purpose to try to emmulate the action of
the B3. You were the first to admit that it is similar. Of corse I am
not an expert on the B3 action, but I do love my Roland. I am trying
to learn that rapid fire technique Smith used. On the Roland I feel
like I could do that.
