For surfers and keyboard players, it's all about the wagons. I've got
a 2004 Mazda6 Sport Wagon. Fold down the rear seats and I can carry
all the following, still with room for a passenger:

- Nord Electro 73 and Yamaha FC7 pedal in Pelican 1750 rifle case
(floor of backseat area)
- Yamaha CP300 in Case Technology ATA case
- Leslie 122 strapped to a stair-climbed dolly
- Two 36" oak dowels, suitable for "ark of the covenant"-style
unloading of the 122 (or administering any needed back alley beat-downs)
- Kustom Coupe '72 Guitar Amp
- Power conditioner, Speakeasy VTP, and coiled leslie cable in EWI
R4UE-10 rack case
- Quik Lok WS-550 Stand (the Nord sits on top of the CP300 with no
need for a 2nd tier)
- Set of spare tubes in a small SKB dive case
- Stanley toolbox with all cables/pedals

The Leslie is butted up against the cargo net rail in the front, and
is also held back to the ceiling anchor for the middle seat shoulder
belt via a load strap, so I feel reasonably safe.

If I sacrifice the passenger seat, I can get a JBL Eon 15", a Roland
SH-201, and a Stageline Z-stand. This gives me the fully operational
battle station with three keyboards, the 122, the Kustom (for the
Electro's EP's), the JBL for the CP300 and SH-201. I don't need a
mixer, as the SH-201 plugs into the line in on the back of the CP300,
which has XLR outs.

Visibility is on par with your typical cargo van. Nothing out the
back, but side mirrors and driver/passenger seat windows are
unobstructed, and with a wide-angle stick on mirror on the right side
mirror, I'm good to go.

Consistently gets 26 MPG, and the stereo's good. No 1/8" input, but
if I just unscrew the antenna from the roof of the car, the Belkin
Tunebase FM transmitter actually sounds really good.

I've put 150,000 miles on it in the last three years and it's running
like a champ.
