Subject:Re: Only Moving Air Will Do
It's not just you dude. With Hello Dave (and the amount of organ I play in that band), I am NEVER happy unless it's a real Speakeasy Roadbox of one type or another. With Pink Freud, I was fine with B4 (especially because of all the gear I already had to bring for that job). Unfortunately, since I got my Flat Pack, and was comparing them, I can't abide the sim. It's back to all air, all the time.
At least now, I can put all the air/leslie I want to in my car: FlatPack for most gigs, and RB3c for the most demanding.
Accept no substitutes!

Over the past years, I've posted about my many ways to enhance leslie
sims on various clonewheels to get the most out of it, and bring a more
realistic tone out of the organ. While in recordings sound great,
playing live, I still continued to struggle with how it sounded. I
guess the purist in me got the best of me.
I have officially abandoned any and all studies and projects dealing
with onboard leslie sims; and started to rebuild my new keyboard rig
(Christmas present to myself) with a clonewheel and a rotary cabinet
that will remain nameless for now.
My goal is to have a gig-ready package built and ready within the next
3 months, and will post up pictures and audio soon.
For those of you who still use the leslie sims, you're more tolerant
and accepting than I am. I am eternally plagued with the moving-air
bug.
Ciao for now, I shall be offline for a while, as I continue on this
project.
