Hi,

>I used to mount those threaded flanges outside the Leslie on the back face. I would then attach short goosenecks to the flanges. The reason being if the mics are too far inside the cabiner the Leslie effect is too "choppy". At least for me.
>With them mounted outside on flanges and goosenecks you can adjust the mic distance to taste for more or less of a pronounced chorale effect. If you decides he likes the mic inside all he has to do is crank the goosenck so it places the mic closer to the sound.
>Moving the mic slightly away from the mouth of the horn and rotor produces a smoother choral.
>Of course taste varies from player to player.

A similar effect can be found by turning the mics to the side and slightly upwards. One of the reasons that I opted for the setup I have is that nothing sticks out of the case, and nothing needs to be attached, etc. -- at least, for a mono rig. The mics pop out, and that's it.

Regards,

-BW
