Hehe..who knows..proli.. that was the '70's where rock stars were "out
there!" Sammy warmed up for VH when I saw them.
I think it's difficult to say any human being needs to be spot on 100%
of time. It's next to impossible. That night at the Sports Aroma, Roth
was carrying a bottle of Jack ONSTAGE and taking swigs out of it while
running around and singing!!!!!
He wasn't even hiding it. He even mooned the audience. Nobody came up
and cuffed him like they did to Jim Morrison....
Maybe those M&M's were spiked...

I was just going to make this comment that the volume was probably
affecting his hearing. I saw VH pre Sammy and they were LOUD. They
blasted the Sports Arena in San Diego with so much wattage, I had to
cover my ears. Maybe Eddie was sick that night. It happens...No big
deal really. Most people can never tell...

Not to excuse him, but I can tell you after doing a few shows of that
size (as an opener of course!!!) that at that volume, it becomes very
difficult to trust your ears and be absolutely sure that you're hearing
yourself be flat, and not something else. Everything is literally a
roar, and those guys are friggin LOUD.
Hell, the audience can't tell at that volume, and the musician is no
better after 2 hours of that volume. It can be very disorienting.
