I agree totally. The Rascals with Felix were something else. I wish I

had seen them in their heyday. Was just talking to Cavaliere's agent a

few months back about booking him for a gig. This was when Ike Turner

passed and the agent was looking for ways to recoup. I'm still trying

to get Felix a gig though. He still sounds like he always did but he

stands up now while playing.

Saw an episode of the Sopranos the other nite (it's re runs on Hobo)

and in the "what's great about Italians" episode, even though Tony at

the dinner table got a few facts wrong like in his answer to did the

Chinese invent spaghetti, the kids were seen next watching tv with a

close up of Felix..

I had the same response to Felix's Hammond playing. I can just imagine

the percussive impact of Eddie Brigati's and Felix's, I've Been Lonely

Too Long... And you from 10 feet away. I remember Dino being an

explosive drummer and eye candy as to how he would hit those drums like

a robot. Canadian Gene Cornish rounded out the group and was with Felix

from the beginning. The Songs!!!! People Got To Be Free...goosebumps!

at a small venue here in Cincinnati. They only had 1 guitar, drums

and Felix Cavaliere on the B3 w/ bass pedals. It was over 40 years

ago but I will never forget the shear power of that Hammond w/ 2-

122's and those bass pedals. I was about 10 feet in front of the

organ and I was just in awe of his playing. They were so tight, the

punch I felt in my stomach from the bass pedals and dino's bass drum

was like you get when a really loud marching band passes by you. It

feels really good-but almost makes you sick to your stomach :-) I

went right out and bought a 145 leslie to add to my mini farfisa

compact organ and we did every Rascals song we could! Soon after I

had to get a Hammond and another 145. I would love to hear him play

again in my opinion he did for the Hammond in rock & roll what Roger

McGuinn did for the Rickenbacker 12 string.

Hope you didn't mind the brief trip down memory lane in my "way back

machine"
