Hi Richard,
First step: You need to get out from the second row of the stage, "hiding behind the guitarists and singers." Lead vocals help, as do solos. I haven't been in the second row for at least 25 years now; don't know if I ever really was.
Some famous organists who do/did NOT occupy the second row:
Jimmy Smith
Felix Cavelliere (Young Rascals)
Gregg Rolie (Santana/Journey)
Keith Emerson
Steve Walsh (Kansas)
Mark Stein (Vanilla Fudge)
John Novello (Niacin)
Joey DeFrancesco
Burton Cummings (Guess Who)
I'm sure there are many more ...
Regards,
-BW
