Subject:Re:Diversi Organ Vs Hammond
I'd second that. I've owned 4 Hammonds and only my 1st (M3) had pedals. Most rock and blues guys won't need/want them I believe.

I own a Korg BX-3, circa 2003. I was not interested in a complete organ, because I play with bass players, and have just about my whole life. I was, however, interested in having a *self-contained* pair of manuals properly spaced apart, with the controls in roughly the right place I know that I'm in a very small minority of US users.
That said, there's a little more to the picture than just the presence/absence of chopped B-3's. I live out in the country, and often come home from a gig late at night. The 70 lb. BX-3 plus 25+ lb. case isn't fun to lug in by myself, but it *is* possible to do so. I've done it many times. There's no way that I could get even the most well-designed chop into my Expanded Cape Cod home without a couple of buddies. So, there is a market for a smaller, lighter double-manual organ, in top-only format. You're correct, though, in saying that the market is probably quite small.
I've looked at the C1 a couple of times, and it's very attractive. A bigger deal-breaker than the drawbuttons -- for me, anyway -- is the limited MIDI support and lack of Mod/Pitch wheels. When one gigs with a double-manual organ in 2008, there's a certain expectation that a third manual is not required to add piano, sax, strings, etc. as needed. The C1 falls short in these areas.
I've been interested in the KeyDuo since its inception, and might be interested in such a Diversi product at some point. I would not, however, have any use for the bench and pedals.
Just my $0.02USD ...
Regards,
-BW
