Subject:Motion Sound Pro-3T: help, no sound!
Hi all,
I've just imported a used Motion Sound Pro-3T from the States. I was
assured it was in full working order before it left, but when it
arrived and I tried it out, I found it didn't make any sound at all.
It switches on, the power LED illuminates, the preamp tube glows, the
rotor spins at both speeds, I'm using a 100W 240->120V voltage
converter which is what the manual says the unit needs, and the low
frequency audio output is coming through just fine; I'm just getting
nothing whatsoever out of the unit's horn, no matter how I adjust the
dials on the front or alter the strength of the input signal.
I've opened the unit up and I can't see anything obviously wrong. I
can't see any joints as having become unsoldered, no components appear
to have burnt out and there are no loose bits rattling around inside
the case. Since the tube glows and the bass output works fine, I
presume it's not a faulty tube either.
Any ideas, anyone? I've noticed that the Motion Sound people often
participate here; Motion Sound people, if you're reading this, please
help!
Many thanks
Hugo
