Subject:Re: Hammer action controller

That's really an interesting keyboard. If I understand it correctly, "The
VAX77 is available in six different action weights, ranging from the light
weight of a B-3 to the heavy feel of a Steinway". It employs "constant
spring force" keys (whatever that is), with a key weight range of 24 to 79
grams. Apparently the action is not adjustable, but must be specified among
six spring variants prior to purchase. Its going to be rolled out through
personal demos in major cities, leading one to believe that it will be
expensive. There doesn't seem to be any provision for connecting double
manuals, so its not being marketed as an organ replacement. As a synth
replacement, I wish the website was more specific about its controls. It
looks like one would need to add some kind of separate knob and switch
controller to manipulate parameters within a patch.
