Subject:Re: VK8M
Hello,my first post here. I've recently purchased a vk8m and I like
its sound and many interesting features. I've come across a few
issues that have probably been discussed already anyway here's my
question. Disabling the rotary sound simulator and disabling the d
beam. For the latter I simply selected "spring" and left the rev
volume to zero. I didn't find a better way but: can the d beam
really be disabled without having to cheat? It is annoying when I
want to change a few parameters with my left hand while still
playing with the other hand and hear that stupid growling thing even
if I try carefully not to pass the hand above the beam. The same
with the rotary simulator, I've had the impression that it CAN NOT
BE DISABLED. I read on this list the incredible reply from roland
technical staff. Probably a too young technician who has never used
a real leslie cabinet in the flesh. The vk8m is the very first clone
if I'm not mistaken where you don't find a simple on off switch for
this simulator. I may want to use a real leslie in the flesh or use
another external simulator. Yet the story of the 11 pin connector is
inconsistent. In Italy there have been beautiful leslie cabinets
built between the 60' and 70'(I own two Lombardi tube leslie amp,
200W each, which are just fabolous)where you find a simple jack
audio input and motor footswitches are connected to the cabinet and
not to a console. I simply can not use them with the vk8m and I
realised these incredible things only after the purchase. Any
thoughts? Is there a stable way that can be stored to disable the
rotary speaker at least for a few patches? Many thanks Enrico
