Haha production back then was very controlled with the canned applause.

Yes that was an electric time for synths. I never had an Arp but of course always wanted one. Eventually I got an EMS Putney as an EMS was what I learned on at college back in Omaha, but that was too fragile for live work. Drifted easily.. My last synth was an SC Pro-One which I still have.

Listening to modern progressive metal bands, like Symphony X, I find influence or strains of commonality with their predecessors like Kansas, but with the use of soft synths as part of the sound and no organ. The singing has changed drastically though and I wonder who are modern Kansas/Steve Walsh/Kerry Livgren type bands nowadays, with Steve's melodic vocals and farm out Hammond tones and Kerry's haunting songs and great keyboard/guitar work.....?

Wonder what Steve used on his last tour?

I'm watching Gilmour on the Live from Abbey Road series just showed up on the tube...Keyboardist Rick "Farfisa" Wright playing a chop on On An Island, still uses a leslie..
