Subject:Re: Add Pipe organ to your clone!
I'm mainly a lurker here but I also play theatre pipe organ. The Miditzer
is really great. You can run theatre organ samples through it via
soundfonts or you can design your own soundfonts and use the Miditzer
software (which is free) just as a relay and switching control. It has
memories and presets and is very well thought out. A MIDI recorder is also
built-in.
If you want to go the whole way, get Hauptwerk with Neil Jensen's Wurlitzer
samples and you have the real thing. A friend, John Giacchi, is a concert
organist and uses a four manual MIDI'd theatre organ console with 317 stop
tabs controlling Jensen's samples through 20 channels. It rivalls the best
of the real thing. That same software can be played from your Hammond XK3's
and other clones.
